Bogging in Kisatchie National Forest
Some audio and videos from our recent trip to botanize western Louisiana.
Something a little different for this newsletter! A snippet of audio from a trip to some bogs in Kisatchie National Forest over this last weekend. I misspoke in there when talking about Xyris sp. and said it was in the Iridaceae family it’s actually in Xyridaceae—I think they might have been in the other family once upon a time but I’m having trouble finding that out for certain. So, error on my part! Around the 4 minute mark the audio gets a bit funky for a few seconds but then fixes itself, I’m not sure what kind of interference was coming through! Also, please check out the few videos I took as well!

Did y’all get a chance to get to the Caroline Dorman Nature Preserve (aka Briarwood)? It is well worth checking out. Lots of diverse plants and interesting history.
